Community Advisory Panel – History Premium
Standard Farms first appointed a community advisory panel in 1999, to help the company understand and respond to community concerns about the various farm operations. Some time after that, a consent decree between
the company, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources included the requirement that an advisory panel meet on a regular basis.
The panel later divided into two groups, one focused on farm operations and the other on the production facility in
Milan, Missouri. In 2003, the company decided to refocus the panel concept on farm operations.
Community Advisory Panel – Purpose The purpose of the Community Advisory Panel is threefold:
(1) To help PSF understand and respond to community concerns or questions about the company's farm operations.
(2) To help the community gain a better understanding of PSF farm operations. (3) To help the community and the company work together for the betterment of the region.
